Athletics NT and the NO MORE Campaign link up again for 2017
The NO MORE Campaign has linked up again with Athletics Northern Territory to spread the message of NO MORE family violence right across the Territory.
2016 saw the start of a strong relationship between the two parties with all of the major races in the NT bearing the NO MORE message.
NO MORE Campaign Founder Charlie King is proud to be partnering with Athletics NT for a second year.
“Last year was a great experience for us to be involved with all the major running races that happen across the Territory,” said Mr King.
“We had the opportunity to speak to the thousands of people that participated in each of the fun runs about family violence.
“Racegoers linked arms at the starting line while we spoke about the symbolism of the ‘linking up’ aspect of the NO MORE Campaign.
“We had some great feedback from runners saying that they had never done anything like it and it made them feel really proud to be a part of it.”
Michele Hughes, Acting General Manager of Athletics NT is looking forward to another year working closely with the NO MORE Campaign.
“Our goal this year is to expand and work closer with NT Athletic Clubs, developing Domestic Violence plans and updating Athlete Codes of Conduct to include the NO MORE Campaign Philosophies,” said Hughes.
The first fun run of the year, the Palmy 5k will take place on Sunday 9 April.
