Athletics Northern Territory links up with the NO MORE Campaign
Athletics NT and the NO MORE Campaign have joined forces to spread the word about saying no more to family violence.
During 2016 all major running races being held throughout the Northern Territory will have the NO MORE call attached to them.
Athletics NT General Manager John Bowden said the athletics family is proud to be partnering with the NO MORE Campaign to spread the message about saying no more to family violence.
“We admire the work being done by the NO MORE Campaign,” he said.
The partnership brings opportunities to reach more Territorians to speak about the effects of family violence and the importance of everyone playing their part to stop the epidemic.
The NO MORE Campaign will have a presence at the Cazalys Palmy 5k, Conoco Phillips City2Surf, Alice Springs Running Festival, NT School Championships and the Mitchell Street Mile.
At this weekend’s Palmerston race NO MORE Campaign founder Charlie King will be explaining the linking of arms to all runners and walkers before the start. NO MORE banners will be lining the finish line, and race medals will carry the NO MORE message.
Charlie King said the partnership presented an opportunity to reach a whole new audience.
“We are excited about linking with Athletics NT to spread the no more to family violence message at this weekend’s Cazaly’s Palmy 5km,” he said.
The race starts in the Palmerston Waterpark carpark (Roystonea Ave) at 7.15 am on Sunday 17 April.
