Taking Action Just Got Easier

Want to help prevent domestic and family violence, but not sure where your organisation should begin? The new NO MORE DVAP Builder is now live.

The online tool helps sporting clubs, businesses, workplaces, community groups, councils, schools and other organisations create their own Domestic Violence Action Plan (DVAP).

A DVAP sets out the practical actions your organisation will take to help prevent domestic and family violence.

It does not need to be complicated. It needs to reflect your people, your organisation and what you can realistically do.

Build a plan that is right for your organisation

The DVAP Builder guides you through a series of simple questions, helps you consider the role your organisation can play and identifies practical actions you can include in your plan.

Your actions might include:

  • Providing domestic and family violence education for staff or members
  • Reviewing workplace policies and support
  • Promoting respectful relationships
  • Starting conversations with members, customers or the community
  • Holding a NO MORE Round or community activity
  • Sharing information about support services
  • Raising funds or providing practical support
  • Working with another organisation to extend your impact

You choose the actions that make sense for your organisation.

Start, strengthen or show

There is more than one way to take part.

START

Create your first DVAP and decide what your organisation is ready to do.

STRENGTHEN

Already have a DVAP? Review your commitments, build on what worked, finish what you started or add something new.

SHOW

Share your actions, involve others and show that preventing domestic and family violence is something all of us can play a part in.

What can a DVAP look like?

Last year, organisations across the Territory showed us how many different forms action can take.

NTRL named its finals series THE STAND. DABSCO held a staff education session. NAWIC NT offered DV-Alert training. Aussie Pooch collected donations to help victim-survivors needing safe accommodation for their pets. The Wadeye Men’s Shed brought men together for an On Country wellness camp.

Different organisations. Different actions. The same commitment to change.

Your plan should work the same way. It should build on your organisation’s strengths, connections and opportunities to make a difference.

Help us reach 90 DVAPs in 90 days

The launch of the DVAP Builder is part of THE STAND 2026.

From 26 August to 24 November, we are working towards a goal of 90 Domestic Violence Action Plans in 90 days.

Every plan represents an organisation prepared to do something.

Every action helps build a community where violence is not accepted and women and children are safe.

Start your plan today — and take THE STAND.
